Clinical Nursing Editorial Director, Continuing Education – Full-time – Falls Church, Va.

SUMMARY
The Clinical Nursing Editorial Director for Continuing Education participates in the educational design, creation and maintenance of the continuing education inventory, including nursing programs offered by Nursing Spectrum Continuing Education and allied health programs offered by Gannett Education. Maintains the accuracy, currency and appropriateness of the CE content. Keeps abreast of current trends in nursing and healthcare by networking within the healthcare community at local, regional and national levels. Develops and maintains professional rapport with authors, reviewers and learners. Remains expert in CE trends, policies and procedures, and accreditation criteria set forth by CE certifying agencies, including the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC).

Essential Responsibilities:
  • Update, validate, edit, proofread and maintain CE Editorial material.
  • Solicit manuscripts, plan and develop CE content, interact with prospective authors and reviewers, and conduct research.
  • Participate in and assist with various Gannett Healthcare Group departmental projects.
  • Keep abreast of current trends in nursing and healthcare by networking in the healthcare community and through direct/indirect interaction with general readership.

Qualifications:
Motivated self-starter should hold an RN license and an appropriate master's degree. Publishing and continuing education experience strongly preferred. Candidates should be knowledgeable about current nursing and healthcare trends. Adept interpersonal and communication skills are essential. Must be computer literate and able to work in a fast-paced publishing environment.

Gannett Healthcare Group is looking for a Financial Analyst to work out of our Hoffman Estates, IL office. This position reports to the Director of Financial Planning & Analysis and will be working primarily with projects related to our expanding Gannett Education business. The Financial Analyst will create new reporting systems for the finance and business development departments and generate workable analysis and other reports for upper level management.

Essential Skills:
  • Excellent data analysis and presentation skills required
  • Advanced Excel and Access skills required
  • Excellent attention-to-detail, ability to compile and validate large amounts of data while maintaining a high degree of accuracy

You will be part of the Continuing Education development team producing both public and private websites.

Position requires:

  • Three years experience actively coding ASP.NET projects using C#
  • Proficiency in server- and client-side debugging techniques
  • Proficiency in .NET database access techniques
  • Ability to author non-trivial SQL queries
  • Proficiency authoring SQL Server stored procedures and triggers
  • Understanding of CSS and JavaScript

SUMMARY
We are looking for an experienced education Regional Sales Manager for the Northeast, covering a multi-state territory. Candidates MUST currently live in the territory. Ideal locations would be Philadelphia, New York City or New Jersey. This individual contributor, outside sales role will be based from a home office. The Regional Sales Manager (RSM) reports to the Sr. Vice President of Sales and Marketing. This corporate B2B sales position proactively manages a multi-state geographic sales territory calling on hospitals / healthcare systems and their senior level decision makers. This is an existing territory with a significant current base of business which must be maintained as well as high expectations for new account growth. The RSM will establish and cultivate relationships with both new and existing healthcare clients in the region through regular contact (phone calls, emails, meetings) with them.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Manages time, territory and travel in a way that maximizes the number of sales calls and direct customer interactions.
  • Consistent and detailed use of Gannett Healthcare Group’s CRM system to track and manage all sales/customer service activities and opportunities.
  • Prospects for new clients through email and phone campaigns.
  • Prepares and presents customized proposals and agreements to prospective clients, including demonstrations of our online education software.
  • Effectively utilizes technology to facilitate remote presentations over the Internet.
  • Promotes a positive image for GHG by participating in tradeshows, professional organizations and community functions.

QUALIFICATIONS:To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Additionally, the following qualifications are critical to the success of the Gannett Education RSM

  • Must have proven record of exceeding sales quotas over an extended period in a B2B outside sales territory within the last 2 years.
  • Expertise with technology (Salesforce.com, Excel, GoToMeeting, Learning Management Systems, web-based software applications, etc.)
  • Strong writing skills are critical (writing samples will be required)
  • High level of organization skill and experience managing a multi-state outside sales territory from a home office
  • Highly developed presentation and stand-up classroom facilitation skills (you will be asked to demonstrate these skills)
  • Solid knowledge of hospital business operations and healthcare education tools
  • Proven experience calling on top level executives in a healthcare setting (CNO, CFO, Dir. Of Education, Dir of Professional Practice, VP of HR, etc.)

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s degree in business, nursing or related field required. MBA a plus. Minimum 5 years of outside sales experience selling to corporate clients in the healthcare field with knowledge of online education software. This is NOT an entry-level sales role.

COMPUTER SKILLS: Must be Tech Savvy. Strong knowledge of hosted software applications (SaaS model) and how business systems integrate is required. Must have advanced level knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and ability to conduct independent market research on the Internet.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS: Because the sales territory will cover multiple states, this position will require significant travel. A typical month might include 1-2 multiple-day trips and 1-2 single-day trips.

LOCATION: Candidate must currently live within the sales territory. There is no relocation assistance available for this position.

COMPENSATION: Base salary plus commission. Base salary commensurate with experience.
